Henson Park Upgrade

Ranbury Assists AFL NSW/ACT with Henson Park Upgrade

Ranbury has been engaged by AFL NSW/ACT to provide Project Management services for the upgrade of the Inner West Council’s Henson Park in Marrickville, Sydney.

The AFL NSW/ACT, in partnership with The Newtown Jets and Inner West Council, has committed to reconfigure Henson Park to meet AFL facilities guidelines to provide a new home ground for the new Swans AFLW women’s team.

The works include:

  • Upgrading and extending the King George V Memorial Grandstand including change rooms, amenities, medical and umpiring facilities as well as spectator facilities and disability access.
  • Demolition of existing and construction of new multipurpose building, housing coaches boxes, media rooms, canteen, public amenities and broadcast facilities.
  • Associated external paving and landscaping around the new/refurbished facilities.

The Sydney Swans AFL Women’s team will play its home games at the park commencing in 2023.

Ranbury have been working with architects, Crawford Architects and AFL NSW/ACT on the concept design and documentation for submission of the Development Application to Inner West Council. AFL NSW/ ACT have engaged Ranbury to provide project management services for the project through to completion.

Ranbury is successfully managing the project partnership between local government and corporate stakeholders. (Inner West Council, AFL NSW/ACT & Newtown Jets)

The team are working closely with AFL NSW/ACT and the design team to ensure that all the elite sporting requirements are met.

Ranbury has built a strong relationship with the project team and is driving the project forward to meet the critical program milestones.
