Michael O'Dwyer

Mick is a well-known and respected senior Civil Engineer and Contract Administrator with over 30 years’ experience in the administration of complex infrastructure contracts for both clients and principal contractors.

Mick has extensive site experience, starting his career with VicRoads as a site representative on the Hume Highway Upgrade Program, including Wangaratta Bypass. Since then, he has worked on complex infrastructure projects for Transport for New South Wales and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. These projects included Pacific Highway upgrades – Yelgun to Chinderah, Tyagarah-Ewingsdale and Brunswick Heads Bypass, the SET1 Busway and various M1 Upgrades.

Mick also has extensive experience with Alliance Contracting, having been the Alliance Project Director for Pacific Link (Tugun Bypass – $543M), followed by the ‘Origin’ Alliance on the Ipswich Motorway ($1.95B). He was also the D&C Project Director for the NZ Transport Agency Transmission Gully Motorway PPP ($850M) and more recently, the Deputy Director on the Pacific Highway Upgrade – Woolgoolga to Ballina ($3.6B), Delivery Partner role. He has held senior management roles within both Abigroup Contractors and Fulton Hogan (Australia).

Mick’s thorough understanding of complex infrastructure projects, the commercial vehicles that are utilised within them and the key drivers from both the client and principal contractor’s side, make him an invaluable asset to the Contract Administration team.

A member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia, Mick has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), is an MIEAust CPEng NER APEC, Chartered Professional Engineer, a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland IEAust and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
