Rollingstock Cairns Tilt Train – QR - $138M Ranbury had a major role in this project as Client Representative, Project Director and Alliance Manager for design, manufacture, test and commission. Ranbury has also fulfilled other project roles such as production engineering, logistics and parts supply management, programming and scheduling, subcontract and supplier contract administration. Ranbury as part of this Project was nominated and won both the State and National Australian Institute of Project Management Project Management Achievement Award for this project. ![]() EDI Rail appointed Ranbury to assist EDI Rail in the Millennium Train project approximately 3 years after being awarded the contract by RailCorp. EDI Rail were aware of the capabilities of Ranbury following Ranbury's involvement in the development of the Cairns Tilt Train project as Alliance Director for QR and EDI Rail. As Project Manager of the Millennium Train project, Ranbury was responsible for the overall management and coordination of the design, costing and manufacture, to ensure that contractual milestones and financial obligations were recovered. NSW Rollingstock PPP - $3.6B The NSW Government called for PPP submissions for the procurement and operation of 78 sets of new 8-car double decker trains for the Sydney network. Ranbury was engaged by Downer EDI and has been providing specialist Project Director and Project Management services to the Special Purpose Vehicle established to bid for the PPP since October 2004. Ranbury’s expertise has been utilised by the team in areas such as Project Management of the bid, Master Programming and Scheduling, Procurement Planning, Project Management Planning, management of commercial and contractual relationships with local and international suppliers and sub-contractors, and Maintenance Facility Planning. Infrastructure ![]() The SEQIPRAIL team was established in 2005 in response to the publication of the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and the South East Queensland Regional Plan. It was clear from the magnitude of the planned rail infrastructure works that a team of project managers and support staff should be dedicated to ensuring that QR’s commitments to these plans be delivered efficiently, on time and within budget. Ranbury has supported this QR initiative from its early phases, through the provision of expert senior level resources at both a functional and strategic level, working seamlessly within the client project teams. These projects are progressively being rolled out, and Ranbury has a number of roles that support both the program team and manage individual projects. ![]() Ranbury has been engaged to work with QR in the delivery of critical Power Systems throughout the state. This work has developed from the significant investment in new rail infrastructure currently underway throughout Queensland. Ranbury was able to provide a team solution to this critical program of work, utilizing our experienced group of rail project managers and programmers. Strategic Coal Master Planning Ranbury was responsible for the development of a major project management master plan for the Coal business of QR in 2005. Due to the success and professionalism of this initial plan, Ranbury has continued to be invited to review and update the plan in subsequent years. as a result Ranbury have built up a good core knowledge of coal handling and process by rollingstock in Queensland. Supply Chain Review Ranbury were appointed to undertake the management of process to investigate, analyse and implement changes to QR’s inventory supply and purchasing system procedures. This role has become an ongoing role Freight Reviews Ranbury have had a variety of inputs into the logistics and amanagement of the QR's freight business including structure and business analysis. Property and Development Milton Transit Oriented Development Ipswich Railyards Redevelopment Ipswich Workshops – 56 Hectares adjoining Ipswich CBD - Ranbury managed the establishment of local steering committee and then an EOI process for a preferred developer. A Development Agreement was then negotiated addressing the issues of contamination, heritage listing, master planning and town planning until the site was finally sold upon the successful receipt of development approvals from the local authority. Townsville Railyards Redevelopment Project manager for a 30 hectare site disposal and redevelopment including resolution of contamination, heritage, town planning and infrastructure issues and management of land sale contract process. Roma St Railyards Redevelopment 20 hectares adjoining Brisbane CBD - Ranbury managed the process of volumetric subdivision and sale of the site for the redevelopment of a new railway station and the eventual Roma Street Parklands. The site was heavily contaminated with significant heritage and town planning challenges. |
