Alpha Coal Mine Rail Corridor

Hancock Coal has recently appointed Ranbury to assist in acquiring a rail corridor of over 495 kilometres connecting the rich thermal coal deposits of the Galilee Basin to the loading facility at Abbot Point. The privately owned rail corridor will require land to be acquired from approximately 40 separate land holders across the length of the proposed line.

Hancock have recently received “project state significance’ from government and already has undertaken considerable and effective consultation with landowners to date and established a number of good relations with owners. As demonstrated by the many access agreements put in place for investigation/study purposes. The acquisition process is planned to be completed within a period of between 4 – 6 months. This is to ensure that the proposed construction phase can commence by mid 2011 with the rail system being operational by 2013.

Ranbury’s role is to lead an integrated valuation and negotiation team to acquire the land along the first 130 kilometres of the corridor rail alignment.

Paget Depot

Ranbury is managing the design and construction of a $30m depot and office complex in Paget on behalf of the Mackay Regional Council.

The project includes some 8300m2 of depot facilities, approximately 12 buildings on a 9 hectare site, offices for some 180 Council staff and storage areas for major equipment and supplies. The facilities will replace three aging depots operated by the amalgamated regional Council.

We are targeting practical completion in May 2011.

Sunshine Coast Entertainment And Exhibition Centre

Ranbury has been awarded the role of leading the feasibility assessment and concept design stage of the Sunshine Coast Entertainment and Exhibition Centre.

The aim of the investigation is to determine the needs for an entertainment and exhibition centre on the Sunshine Coast, define the scope of facilities that should be provided, estimated establishment costs, ongoing operating revenues and cost, social and economic impact, funding sources and design principles and concept design. The study is funded by a $1m grant from the Commonwealth Government and some $400k in-kind support by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

Ranbury is leading a team of independent experts in the fields of venue management, financial modelling and economic impact, design principles and specifications, funding procurement strategy and cost management.

In addition to co-ordinating the investigation, which commenced in June this year (and is intended to be complete in May 2011) Ranbury is also undertaking the site evaluation and assessment component.
